Podcasting 101

Did you miss something at the weekend service? Do you want easy access to past teachings? Do you think someone else could benefit from what you've heard? You've come to the right place.

Woodcrest provides free access to audio recordings of our weekly teaching. You can browse previous weeks and read the message notes to find what you're looking for. Then you can listen online or take it with you while you drive or exercise.

Here are some of the ways you can access our content.

Listen online: The main audio listing here lets you see the currently available messages. An embedded player will let you play the message right from your browser. The player should work with any modern browser that supports Adobe Flash.

Subscribe to the podcast

Podcasting is a technology to allow audio broadcasting on the internet. It's name is a portmanteau of iPod and broadcast. While traditional broadcasting requires a transmitter and a receiver (tv or radio), podcasting requires a feed and a podcatcher.

Podcasting has the added benefit that the files are downloaded to your computer and are available to transfer to your portable player so you can take them with you.

Woodcrest provides a podcast feed of our message content. If you are interested in receiving this content automatically when it becomes available, you can subscribe to our feed using your podcatcher software.

If you do not currently have podcast software, the following is a list of some popular podcast software:

To subscribe using the RSS feed, copy the location of the badge on the left of this page by right-clicking (control-click on a Mac) and choosing "copy shortcut". Paste this into your particular podcast software.

iTunes

Apples popular media software is much more than a podcatcher. It also is a full fledged player, music store, and index to thousands of podcasts. You can find Woodcrest's content by searching the iTunes store using the keywords 'Woodcrest Audio'. The content is still free.

Buy the CD

Sometimes a CD is still the best way to go. While we can't offer CD's for free, they are available in the Woodcrest bookstore for a small fee.
